Ranked by DesignIntelligence as the 4th best interior design program in the South, FIU’s Interior Architecture Department consistently strives for excellence in interior design education. Our mission is to advance the profession through teaching, scholarship, and service focused on the generation and application of knowledge about the creation of innovative and inspirational interiors.

The Interior Architecture Department is a community of students, graduates, and faculty who are intellectually and actively involved in the field of interior design and architecture. We are critically oriented toward design’s role in society and believe that people who design well, have a professional attitude, and a sense of accountability are able to make significant contributions to society at local, academic, professional and global levels.

Through leadership, research and creative expertise, our faculty, students and alumni are committed to preparing ethical, thoughtful, and productive global citizens who participate in creating quality interior environments.
